/ Correspondence add-on

Statutory delivery, evidenced — not just sent.

An add-on that sits on top of the tier ladder: NexCert delivers the certificate by email or by post, logs every send, and keeps the trail ready for the day someone asks for proof.

The problem this page is for

Issuing the certificate is only half the statutory duty. An EICR has to reach the tenant within 28 days and the local housing authority within 7 days of a request. A CP12 has to reach the tenant within 28 days of the check. A CP14 warning notice has to reach the right people the moment a fault is found. Proving it happened — who was sent what, by which channel, and when — is a separate job from writing the certificate itself, and it's the job most firms end up doing by hand: printing, franking, filing a proof-of-postage slip in a drawer somewhere.

This describes the regulation as public law. It is general information, not a compliance assessment of any specific property.

What Correspondence does

Once a certificate is signed off, NexCert generates the letter and the email — addressed, branded and ready to go — and sends the email itself. For post, NexCert hands the finished letter to a third-party print-and-post provider, which prints and posts it: second class, or signed-for where proof of delivery matters. Print and postage are charged by that provider at their rates.

Either way, every send is written to a ledger, so there's one place that shows what went out, by which channel, and when, rather than a mix of sent folders and postage receipts.

The evidence trail is built for the moment a local authority makes a request under the 28-day / 7-day windows, or a contract review asks for proof a delivery obligation was met — export-ready rather than assembled after the fact.

Correspondence handles email and post today. It does not send by SMS — that channel isn't built.

How it fits with the rest of NexCert

Correspondence is an add-on, gated per workspace rather than sold on its own — it sits on top of whichever tier and product line a firm is on. It works with any certificate NexCert issues, including the CP14 warning notice that follows an ID or AR gas finding and the handover pack that follows an EICR. See how certificates are issued in the first place on the certificates page, and how sign-off and delivery work across a whole portfolio on portfolio compliance.

Common questions

Can I buy the Correspondence add-on today?

Not yet. NexCert is in private development and every add-on's pricing is indicative, not open for purchase. Join the waitlist and we'll be in touch when it opens.

Does this change the statutory delivery deadline?

No. The 28-day tenant window and the 7-day local-authority window are set in law and don't move. Correspondence is a delivery and evidence layer on top of certificates NexCert already issues, not a change to the deadline itself.
