Every certificate NexCert issues, in one place

NexCert ships 15 certificate types across four families: electrical, fire, ventilation and gas. Each one is a template the app issues today, not a roadmap item. This page lists what each certificate is, when it's used, and which product line it belongs to.

Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC)

EIC

Certifies new electrical work — a new installation, rewire or circuit addition — at the point it's completed. The full form splits Design, Construction and Inspection into separate signatory blocks, for jobs where more than one qualified person holds those roles.

Electrical Installation Certificate — domestic (EIC-D)

EIC-D

The domestic short form of the EIC, with a single signatory block. Used where one qualified person — typically a sole trader — holds the Design, Construction and Inspection roles on their own work.

Electrical Installation Condition Report — domestic

EICR

A periodic condition assessment of an existing fixed installation up to 100 A supply, against a 12-section inspection schedule. Findings are recorded against the standard C1/C2/C3/FI codes; it's the certificate landlords need under the PRS Regulations 2020.

Electrical Installation Condition Report — commercial

EICR

The same condition-report format as the domestic EICR, scoped for commercial installations above 100 A supply, where distribution and circuit counts are typically larger.

Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate

MW

Certifies additions or alterations to an existing installation that don't extend to a new circuit — an extra socket, a light fitting, a fault repair. The highest-volume certificate for most sole traders and small firms.

Domestic Visual Condition Report

VI

A visual-only inspection of a domestic installation's condition, without the testing an EICR requires. Used where a quick visual check is what's needed, rather than a full periodic inspection.

Electrical Danger Notice

DN

Notifies the responsible person that danger is present (C1) and records the action taken. Raised automatically from a C1 on an EICR or Visual Condition Report — the electrical counterpart of the gas CP14.

/ FAQ

Common questions

Do I need NexCert Electrical, NexCert Gas, or Complete?

NexCert Electrical unlocks the electrical, fire and ventilation families above — 10 certificate types. NexCert Gas unlocks the 5 gas certificate types. If you issue both electrical and gas certificates, NexCert Complete puts all 15 in one workspace for less than buying the two lines separately.

Does NexCert do commercial fire alarm or emergency lighting certificates?

No. NexCert's fire family covers domestic fire alarm design/commissioning and servicing under BS 5839-6 only. Commercial fire alarm certification (BS 5839-1) and emergency lighting (BS 5266) are not shipped.

Does NexCert do CP15, CP16 or CP44?

No. NexCert ships five gas certificate types — CP12, CP14, CP2, CP17 and CP42. CP15, CP16 and CP44 have no template in NexCert today.

Is this the full list, or is there more coming?

These 15 are what NexCert issues today. Anything not listed on this page — including PAT testing, EV charger or solar certification — is not a shipped NexCert product.
